What Is Flux Pro?
Flux Pro is the flagship model from Black Forest Labs, founded by the original creators of Stable Diffusion. Released in 2024, Flux rapidly established itself as the best-in-class model for photographic realism — outperforming Midjourney, DALL-E 3, and Adobe Firefly on benchmarks measuring photographic accuracy, skin texture detail, and lighting fidelity.
Unlike consumer-facing tools like Midjourney (Discord-based) or DALL-E 3 (ChatGPT-integrated), Flux Pro is primarily accessed through API or third-party platforms that have licensed the model (Replicate, fal.ai, Leonardo AI). Black Forest Labs does not offer a consumer subscription — you pay per image through platforms that integrate the Flux API.
